Merrill Edge Streamlines Portfolio Analysis and Performance Review for the Online Investor

Clients Can Now More Easily Evaluate the Performance of Their Portfolios and Gauge Their Environmental, Social and Governance Impact

Merrill Edge introduced an innovative new experience for the online investor that streamlines and simplifies portfolio analysis and performance review. Merrill Edge’s portfolio story provides clients critical portfolio-monitoring data, education, and insights to help them make more informed investing decisions. Visually impactful, clear and unique in design and function, the capability builds on Merrill Edge’s award-winning, streamlined stock research experience, which launched in November 2017 and offers new stock research and analytic capabilities.

Knowledge is power, and we want our self-directed clients to know as much as possible when building and managing their portfolios to help them pursue their investing goals,” said Aron Levine, head of Merrill Edge. “By providing access to tools, education and insight, we believe we can help our clients better manage their financial lives.

Powered by patent-pending technology, the new experience lets Merrill Edge’s clients:

    • Monitor the performance of their portfolios.
    • Compare their portfolio’s performance to that of the broader market.
    • Learn how to build balanced portfolios.
    • Clearly view their portfolio’s asset allocation, broken down by investment class and industry, with line of sight into overlapping holdings and action items to consider.
    • See a simplified and consolidated view of what professional analysts are saying about their investments, along with research into price and value.
    • Assess whether their investments are aligned to their personal values with impact investing2 scores powered by MSCI ESG Ratings. These scores provide investors portfolio-level environment, social, governance (ESG) scores, including insight into ESG impact and risks.
    • Use the ESG scores to more easily identify ESG leaders and laggards in their portfolios.

The new experience complements the streamlined stock research experience that launched last November, which was designed to help online investors make more informed investing decisions about thousands of U.S. stocks. It offers accessible, jargon-free explanations of the basics of stock research; provides insights into what may be driving a company’s bottom line and performance; and offers professional analysis of company stocks.
