Melissa brings AML and KYC compliance services to APAC with Singapore office launch
Melissa, a leading global provider of identity and contact data verification services, announces the launch of its Singapore office with the appointment of Regional Sales Director, Edmund Ng, to head it up.
The launch sees Melissa bring its market leading ID Verification Service that uses a global dataset of billions of records to check and verify data in real-time for accuracy and fraud prevention purposes, as well as enrich customer data to deliver a 360-degree customer view, to the APAC region. This will help FinTech organisations and banks to achieve AML and KYC compliance, whilst delivering a smooth onboarding process and an optimised customer experience.
Melissa also brings its Address Verification Service which enables businesses to correct, enrich, verify and standardise postal addresses for 240+ countries in real-time, reducing mis-deliveries and costs associated with re-collection and re-delivery.
Edmund Ng joins Melissa from identity data business GBG, where he spent nearly four years as Sales Director in its Singapore office. He will provide his local expertise to support Melissa’s global financial services client list, which includes Bank of America and MetaBank, as well as organisations in other industry sectors.
The Singapore office is the fifth country, outside its headquarters in the US, where Melissa has established a presence. The other four countries where they have offices are the UK, Germany, Canada and India.
Edmund Ng, Regional Sales Director, APAC, at Melissa said:
“I’m very pleased to be joining a market leader in the ID and contact data quality sector. I’m looking forward to supporting Melissa’s blue-chip client base, as well as help the company grow in the APAC region.
“There’s huge investment and growth in the FinTech industry in Asia and plenty of opportunity for savvy financial services businesses, with more than half of the population across the region not having bank accounts. With our services we can verify data in real time for fraud prevention, helping to speed up onboarding and deliver a standout customer experience, as well as enrich it to deliver a single customer view.”
Barley Laing, UK Managing Director at Melissa, commented:
“We’ve supported Money20/20 and other financial services events in Singapore and across Asia, and seen from those that there’s strong demand for KYC and AML solutions. We also identified specific challenges that require greater local expertise, which is why we need experienced staff on the ground, such as Edmund, to help our global clients succeed in their ID verification and data quality objectives.
“This new office, in a key financial and technology centre within the APAC region, presents an opportunity for us to work in collaboration with our client base to find resolutions that will help them capitalise on the region’s strong growth.”
