Karan Kashyap – Posh – Fintech Meetup 2023
Over in Las Vegas for Fintech Meetup 2023, we sat down for a conversation with Karan Kashyap the Co-Founder & CEO of Posh. Posh is a venture-backed conversational AI company that spun out of MIT’s AI lab in 2018. They aim to transform how financial services companies connect with their customers and automate contact centre workflow.
“We actually use a national language-trained model. So if you’re talking to a customer support agent at a branch or a call centre, it’s kind of the same idea except you’re talking to an AI. So at 3 in the morning, you can do that on a digital channel like a mobile app or a website, or you can do that over the phone by actually calling into a call centre that’s using our AI assistant.”
“I think there are two things that kind of accelerate a lot of our growth. One was we launched our product just before Covid and what we saw with Banks and Credit Unions in the US is that Covid led to a lot of Branch shutdowns. When you’re shutting down branches and people are more concerned about their money during a pandemic, that causes a big spike in customer support volumes over channels like the call centre.”
