JIVR PUTS AMBITIOUS GROWTH PLANS IN MOTION WITH THE LAUNCH OF JIVR | SENSES

JIVR, the foldable, electric and chainless bike, today announces the launch of JIVR | Senses; a new project aimed at improving rider safety and security on the road, whilst also expanding the cycling market by attracting non-cyclists to the benefits of e-bikes.

In Europe alone, 100 million people commute to work each day, but less than 10% use bikes due to cycling-related hassles. However, with city roads becoming more crowded and governments simultaneously becoming increasingly environmentally conscious, the number of cyclists is on track to dramatically increase.

In order to meet this growing demand, JIVR was launched as a concept in 2012 as a result of a University College London research paper which studied the quality of city life. CEO and Founder Marcin Piatkowski concluded the research with an idea to popularise cycling to work. Marcin realised that in order to turn regular commuters into cyclists he needed to design a bike that offers all the benefits of cycling without the lifestyle compromises that usually come with it.

The JIVR | Bike is the answer to mixed distance commuting challenges in large cities across the globe. The bike combines its three key USP’s—foldable, electric, chainless—into one beautifully premium bike. Its unique features now make it easy for non-cyclists to use this method of commuting by answering their main concerns; the e-motor allows you to get from A to B without breaking a sweat, the absence of a chain eliminates pesky oil stains, its compact and mobile form means it can be taken anywhere, making it perfect for storing under your desk and requiring far less maintenance than a conventional bike.

In a bid to expand the cycling market further and appeal to the demographic with reservations about e-bikes, the JIVR | Senses project is aiming to improve rider safety and security on the road by making them more visible, delivering additional “senses” and post-factum footage. It will consist of a set of sensors and recorders to monitor the environment around the cyclist, a black box to store the data, and an accelerometer to identify the cyclist’s position and detect suspicious movements.

In addition, JIVR | Inner Sense will allow the JIVR support team to check the battery status, the humidity and temperature of the JIVR. If, for example, a JIVR is kept in a place where the temperature is too low (which is bad for the battery), the team will be able to contact the owner and warn them about it.

In order to support the rollout of both projects, as well as the opening of its new concept store in Frankfurt in 2019 and production of four new products by 2020, the company has also today launched a €850,000 investment round on a leading European equity crowdfunding platform, Seedrs.

CEO and Founder Marcin Piatkowski commented: “Since its inception, JIVR has been focused on creating a product which appeals to the masses and solves everyday commuter headaches. The launch of JIVR | Senses seeks to continue this mission and will help improve the safety of cyclists, thus eliminating further pain-points for those not yet sold on using an e-bike as part of their everyday routine.

From being featured in critically acclaimed Netflix show Altered Carbon as the bike of the future, to producing 200 market-ready units so far, 2018 has been an incredibly exciting year for JIVR. We look forward to rounding it off on a high by inviting all our existing supporters to join us in our Seedrs round.”
