NatWest Group has today announced the appointment of Isabelle Girolami as Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB), subject to regulatory approval.

Isabelle has deep experience in banking, global markets and markets infrastructure in a broad range of leadership roles and is a graduate in international law and finance from Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciale in Paris.

She will join in June from LCH Ltd (The London Clearing House) where she was Chief Executive Officer and successfully drove the continued expansion of LCH’s services, with a focus on growth and innovation as well as risks and resilience.

Prior to LCH, Isabelle was the deputy CEO and head of global markets at Crédit Agricole CIB. She previously spent seven years at Standard Chartered Bank in senior banking and financial markets roles in London and Asia.

Isabelle will report directly to Robert Begbie, Chief Executive Officer for Commercial and Institutional and will be on the bank’s Commercial and Institutional executive committee.

CEO for Commercial and Institutional at NatWest, Robert Begbie, said: “Isabelle’s extensive leadership and strategic transformation experience makes her a great addition to our team as we embark on the next phase of our journey.

“Our Corporate and Institutional Banking business serves the needs of our largest and most complex customers, encompassing large corporates, funds and sponsors and financial institutions. Isabelle is highly regarded in the industry and her experience will be a fantastic asset to the bank, as we continue to deliver on our strategy and support our stakeholders through the challenges ahead.”

Isabelle Girolami added: “I’m looking forward to joining the team at NatWest and to have the opportunity to lead and shape the strategy for the Corporate and Institutional Banking business.”
