Intuit QuickBooks has appointed Liz Darran to its executive leadership team as UK Marketing Director. As part of its drive to hire world class talent to support rapid growth in the UK and Europe, Darran moves to QuickBooks from Sky UK, where she held the position of Director of Brand Marketing for International.

Having spent 18 years at WCRS and Engine Group prior to Sky, including tenure as Managing Partner at WCRS, Darran will use her agency and client-side experience to lead all integrated marketing activity aimed at QuickBooks’ self-employed, SME and accountant audiences. Darran will report directly into Dominic Allon, Vice President and Managing Director, Intuit Europe.

Dominic Allon, Vice President and Managing Director, Intuit Europe said: “As the world’s number one online accounting software business, we have a clear ambition to hire the best talent and build an environment where they can do the best work of their lives. Liz is a perfect example of this, and we are excited to see how her experience, expertise and track record of success will help us connect with and serve our customers.

Prior to her role as Director of Brand Marketing at Sky UK, Darran was Director of Brand & Creative. Responsibilities included brand marketing, media and campaign planning, brand communications and creative services, including the alignment of the Sky brand across its European markets, and marquee activations such as Sky Cycling.

During her time as Managing Partner at WCRS and Engine Group, Darran worked across a variety of well-known brands such as Vodafone, Santander, BMW and 3 Mobile and ran the Sky account for seven years.

Darran said: “This sector is currently enjoying rapid growth in the UK and there is a real opportunity for a holistic brand approach to accelerate QuickBooks’ success further. I was really impressed by the clear vision and keen ambition of the Intuit QuickBooks team. There is a huge opportunity to deliver both innovative and challenging work in this sector to help customers realise the seismic effect this tech can have in controlling and improving their financial lives. I’m really looking forward to the challenge and I can’t wait to get started.”
