YuLife and Bupa Team Up to offer Group Health Insurance to Inspire Better Health for Businesses
YuLife, the tech-driven financial services company on a mission to inspire life, today announced that it has expanded its group insurance offering to now include business health insurance provided by Bupa. Since its foundation in 2016, YuLife’s innovative approach to insurance has seen its group life insurance, critical illness, and income protection policies gain rapid traction in the UK insurance market. Now, in partnership with Bupa, YuLife is applying the core elements of its offering, including access to the game-like YuLife app, to the health insurance market, by adding a product that supports employees’ health and wellbeing and encourages healthy lifestyle habits.
Demand for workplace benefits has soared in the face of a fast-changing economic climate, with health insurance ranked in the top three most sought-after benefits for a third (39%) of employees, according to the Bupa Wellbeing Index. Workplaces can play a leading role in promoting health and wellbeing, and offering group health insurance to their employees is a vital means of doing so. Investing in health and wellbeing in the workplace results in higher engagement, a more inclusive culture, lower sickness absence, and increased employee retention.
Bupa’s business health insurance option will allow YuLife members to access flexible cover alongside the wide range of health and wellbeing tools and services already on offer. YuLife members can access Bupa’s most extensive mental health cover on the market*, fast access to treatment and referrals for cancer, mental health and MSK conditions, and unlimited digital GP appointments. Bupa’s policies are intended to be flexible, incorporating three standard cover levels alongside custom-designed policies, enabling employers to choose the policies that fit their team’s specific needs.
Using the YuLife app, members can also complete everyday wellness activities, such as walking, cycling, meditation and mindfulness which, in turn, allows users to buy groceries, vouchers and discounts from leading brands, or to improve the world through planting trees, ocean cleaning and donating to charity.
“Health insurance, just like life insurance, has immense potential to engage with policyholders and proactively encourage them to adopt healthier lifestyles,” said Sammy Rubin, CEO and Founder, YuLife. “YuLife’s launch of group health insurance provided by Bupa furthers our commitment to enriching our member’s health, providing benefits that are truly valued by employees, and boosting workplace wellbeing at businesses across the country. Access to high-quality healthcare is transformative for employees’ sense of mental, physical, and financial wellbeing, especially in the current economic landscape. This forms part of our mission of making health and wellbeing accessible to all, and ensuring that YuLife members are living their best lives.”
Richard Norris, General Manager for Business and Specialist Products at Bupa UK Insurance said: “Looking after the health and wellbeing of employees is fundamental to building a thriving and successful business. This partnership will help more people to take charge of their everyday health and wellbeing, while also offering reassurance that high-quality healthcare is there when it’s needed.”
YuLife offers health and wellbeing benefits and rewards that are valued and used by its members day to day – resulting in a higher-than-average daily engagement versus traditional insurance products. By incentivizing people to lead healthier and happier lifestyles, YuLife encourages positive physical and mental habits, which reduce unplanned illness-related absences and removes some of the burden on the healthcare system by focusing on prevention, not cure.
