Socotra Launches MCP Server, Enabling Fast and Secure Integrations with Agentic AI

Socotra today released its Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, the most mature MCP server in the insurance industry. The new offering allows insurers to quickly and safely connect agentic AI to Socotra Insurance Suite, unlocking automation for insurance workflows. Socotra MCP Server is readily available to customers and includes 10-minute step-by-step instructions for connecting to popular AI platforms ClaudeCursor, and Visual Studio Code.

Gartner forecasts that AI software spending in the insurance industry will reach $15.9 billion by 2027, with a five-year CAGR of 18.2%. However, carriers today struggle to integrate AI agents with core systems not designed for AI connectivity. MCP, introduced by Anthropic in 2024, solves this with a universal, standards-based interface that allows AI agents to interact with enterprise systems in a structured and auditable way. MCP servers have become a standard offering of enterprise software giants, including SalesforceSnowflakeAtlassianHubspot, and many more.

“Every component of Socotra was built from the beginning for AI connectivity,” said Sonny Patel, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Socotra. “We’re excited that enterprise software has standardized around a protocol that fits so naturally into our API-driven design. Socotra MCP Server simplifies deployment of agentic AI, so that insurers can increase productivity, reduce expenses, improve loss ratios, and offer their customers the very best products and support.”

Why Socotra MCP Server Matters for Insurers

Many insurance operations are complex, regulated, and labor-intensive. Socotra MCP Server directly addresses these challenges by:

  • Enabling AI agents to execute workflows with speed and accuracy, through well-defined MCP tools
  • Protecting sensitive policyholder data with capability-scoped authentication, encrypted agent sessions, and policy-aware authorization based on Anthropic’s latest MCP specification
  • Delivering enterprise-grade governance and auditability where every AI action is logged, permissioned, and traceable—with human-in-the-loop checkpoints
  • Preventing vendor lock-in as AI technology advances and the vendor landscape shifts. Insurers can easily switch AI applications and connect their own custom LLMs.

Socotra MCP Server is purpose-built for insurance. Combined with Socotra’s open APIs and industry-leading data accessibility, it provides the real-time foundation for effective and secure AI agents.

Socotra MCP Server is fully documented and now available to all customers and select partners across all insurance lines and geographic markets. As the underlying MCP standard expands, Socotra will match its capabilities and workflows to keep customers at the forefront of AI capabilities.
