insurethebox nominated in the Insurance Choice Awards 2020
The Insurance Choice Awards, established in 2015, aims to put customers at the heart of the industry by identifying and rewarding the best products, hottest innovations and trusted insurers. The voting opened on 22nd June, with finalists announced on 1st September, before a winner is selected on 22nd October 2020 in London.
insurethebox is nominated in the ‘Best Specialist Insurance Provider’ category, an award which showcases tailored insurance products; the telematics provider has offered its customers commonly-known ‘black box’ insurance for the past decade, allowing customers to track their driving behaviour, whilst offering personalised renewal pricing, to help them become more competent drivers.
Warren Hetz, Commercial Director at Aioi Nissay Dowa, the parent company of insurethebox, says: “With drivers at the age of 17-25 as our main customer group, we hold a responsibility to be more than an insurer; we are road safety advocates and our award-winning campaigns have helped change the driving behaviour of our customers.
Over 5 Billion miles of driving data enable us to communicate clearly and better-serve our customers. Since the inception of our speed reduction programme, we have prevented an estimated 1060 accidents and a further 34 serious injuries*; our focus on customer safety remains paramount in how we operate.”
The awards, wholly-voted for by consumers, ask UK customers to rate their provider on their experience with the company, and with 26,000 votes received in 2019 alone, the awards are heralded as the largest customer votes award in the insurance industry. This accolade provides validation for customer-lead campaigns and initiatives aimed at providing a better experience – something which insurethebox hopes will be recognised by its customers in the forthcoming polls.
“We are excited to be nominated in the ‘Best Specialist Insurance Provider’ award; the onus is on helping young and new drivers alike to get on the road and keep them safe – and as long as we can achieve this, we are content. Positive experiences and recognition give us immense pride in our work and this is put straight back into continually developing to ensure all of our customers have a positive journey with us”, adds Warren Hetz.
The brands participating in the awards span large insurance firms, specialist insurers, insuretech newcomers, brokers and the suppliers they do business with, all of whom compete for a chance at winning one or more awards from 15 product-specific categories, 3 Brokers awards, 7 top-level awards and 4 partner awards. The telematics pioneer, insurethebox are competing in the product-specific category.
Customers are prompted to answer based on their likelihood to recommend companies to their friends and family members, alongside an overall rating and review of said business, to gain an oversight of who best serves their customer base.
