Luma Financial Technologies Appoints Tara York as Head of EMEA
Luma Financial Technologies, a leading global fintech platform for structured products and other alternative investments, today announced the appointment of Tara York as the company’s new Head of EMEA.
The appointment underscores Luma’s strategic commitment to expanding its platform and strengthening client partnerships across the EMEA region. In her new position, Tara will lead Luma’s regional commercial strategy and be responsible for client management, platform adoption, and new business development. She will also serve as a bridge between Luma’s U.S. headquarters and the EMEA market, ensuring alignment across regions while driving operational excellence.
Tara will be based in Zurich, where Luma established a presence already back in 2021, reflecting the company’s long-term commitment to Switzerland and its role as the world’s largest market for structured products. From Zurich, Tara will focus on building the team outside the U.S., developing local talent, and strengthening relationships with clients and partners throughout the EMEA region.
Tara’s appointment follows the transition of David Wood, who previously led Luma’s EMEA business, into a global role as Chief Information Officer. In this position, David will oversee the company’s global information strategy, technology infrastructure, and data initiatives, ensuring that Luma continues to scale its platform securely and efficiently across all regions. He will also lead Luma’s efforts in artificial intelligence, spearheading the development of new tools and capabilities that enhance client experience, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation across the platform.
This leadership transition comes as Luma builds on strong momentum, including the completion of a $63 million Series C financing round earlier this year, led by Sixth Street Growth alongside existing investors Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, UBS, and TD Bank Group.
