G2 Esports and paysafecard extend collaboration

G2 Esports, one of the leading entertainment assets in esports, and paysafecard, an online prepaid payment provider and part of Paysafe Group, announce an extension of their partnership for a fourth consecutive year.

The extended partnership will see the paysafecard brand promoted across multiple G2 Esports social media channels and Twitch live streams, paysafecard-branded giveaways and online player challenges, and dedicated team signing sessions and meet and greets.

G2 Esports is one of the largest esports organisations in the world, currently with nine teams and a total of 46 players. G2 Esports’ teams have been recognised with 92 awards to date.

paysafecard provides gaming enthusiasts with a simple and safe way to pay online using cash and has been serving the gaming community since it was founded in 2000. paysafecard now has a global network of over 650,000 distribution outlets in almost 50 countries.

Previous collaborations between paysafecard and G2 Esports include ‘Making The Squad’ – the first interactive talent show produced by an esports organisation – aimed at finding the next four top content creators in Fortnite to create a team.

According to industry reports, by 2018 more than 400 million people worldwide had watched an esports event – totaling more viewers than major sports such as Formula E.

“With paysafecard we have been able to take G2 content creation to the next level with projects like Making The Squad. Together we are exploring new ways of entertaining the esports audience and new ways of expanding our partnership,” commented Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodriguez, CEO of G2 Esports. “paysafecard is our longest-standing partner and we are thrilled to strengthen our relationship as we continue to bring innovative and entertaining content to esports fans worldwide.”

Konstantinos Maragkakis, paysafecard’s esports media representative, adds: “paysafecard’s connection to esports has been in our DNA since our company was founded nearly 20 years ago to enable gaming enthusiasts to pay online – as safely and as simply as with cash. We want to give something back to the esports community and provide them with unforgettable, unique experiences. Partnerships with major industry players like G2 Esports enable us to do this.”
