Lastro Secures $15M Series A Led by Prosus Ventures to Scale its AI Agent, Empowering Over 2M Homebuyers
Lastro, a Brazilian artificial intelligence proptech, announced a Series A round of $15 million led by Prosus Ventures, a global tech operator and investor and major shareholder in iFood and OLX. FJ Labs and Endeavor Scale-Up Ventures also participated in the round, along with existing investors Canary, QED and 1Sharpe Ventures.
Lastro, founded in 2021, is reimagining real estate transactions in Brazil through its autonomous AI platform built on WhatsApp, the country’s leading commerce channel. By streamlining communications, standardizing property data, and engaging with clients, Lastro helps brokers capture and qualify more leads, boosting conversion rates by up to 60%. Integrated with Brazil’s largest listing portals, the platform is set to transform one of the world’s most fragmented and manual industries.
Meet Lais, an AI agent that has already helped more than 1,000 brokerages
The funding will be used to scale Lais, an AI agent created to automate daily tasks within brokerages. Lais provides 24/7 engagement with prospective buyers and renters, delivering transformative results for brokerage clients. In some cases, response times improved from 6 hours to just 15 seconds, while the rate of unanswered inquiries dropped dramatically.
Lais delivers instant, human-like service to brokerage prospects, ensuring they are matched with the most suitable properties for their needs, and answering their inquiries in real time. This eliminates wasted time for agents dealing with cold leads and ultimately drives higher conversion rates for brokerages. Beyond lead engagement, Lais also streamlines property management by handling tenant requests, such as issuing invoices and filing maintenance orders. She even proactively reaches out to property owners to source new listings, expanding brokerages’ portfolios.
By embedding herself in these core activities, Lais becomes a powerful source of insights. Conversation data is transformed into dashboards that spotlight the most in-demand neighborhoods, the property types generating the strongest appeal, and the marketing channels delivering the highest returns—positioning her as a central hub for real estate intelligence.
New funding to accelerate product development
With the new funding, Lastro will expand Lais’ capabilities for brokerages, enhance the user experience, and add new integrations and solutions to the platform. The round also provided liquidity for early backers.
“Brazil’s real estate sector is massive and filled with simple, repetitive, and time-consuming tasks – the kind of work where artificial intelligence excels. Lais has already proven it can transform how the market engages with customers and streamlines these tasks, driving higher conversion rates and freeing up brokers’ time so they can focus on building relationships with their customers,” said Allan Paladino, CEO and co-founder of Lastro. “Unlike many technology solutions that aim to replace brokerages, our goal is the opposite: to leverage artificial intelligence in a way that empowers brokerages to focus on what they do best – selling and renting properties.”
Aiming to be one of Brazil’s leading AI startups
“In Brazil, where WhatsApp has become the backbone of commerce, Lastro’s AI platform is uniquely positioned to transform how properties are bought and sold,” said Rafael Barbalat, Investor at Prosus Ventures LatAm. “Their domain-specific technology, trained on millions of real estate conversations, gives them a clear competitive edge and the technical depth to capture a meaningful share of the global real estate technology market. We see tremendous potential for Lastro to expand well beyond Brazil, redefining property transactions worldwide. With Prosus’ global reach and experience scaling technology companies, we’re confident we can help catalyze this journey. We’re impressed by the remarkable founding team, and we’re excited to back Allan and José Thomaz on their journey forward.”
This performance also led Lastro to be selected by AWS as one of ten Brazilian startups in the global generative AI acceleration program in 2024. The company previously raised more than $5 million from leading investors such as Canary, QED Investors and 1Sharpe Ventures, bringing its total funds raised to date to $20 million.
With Prosus Ventures joining, Lastro aims to solidify its position as a leading artificial intelligence startup in Brazil.
