FREEMARKET APPOINTS HEAD OF PARTNERSHIPS
freemarket, the disruptive FX and payments platform for SMEs, which launched in 2016, has appointed Andy Valentine to develop new and existing client partnerships. With a particular focus on international trade and ecommerce marketplace users, Andy takes on the role of Head of Partnerships, to meet the growing demand for freemarket’s unique solutions.
Since its launch in 2016, freemarket has experienced rapid growth, now having clients in 20 countries. With its fixed commission of just 0.2%, and unique ‘matching’ model to optimise currency exchanges so each party gets the best FX rate, freemarket has filled a significant gap in the market.
“Andy has significant experience in developing partnerships for foreign exchange providers, and the knowledge he brings to freemarket will be invaluable as we look to expand still further”, said James Allum, Chief Commercial Officer, freemarket. “As Head of Partnerships, Andy will be working closely with organisations whose clients would benefit from freemarket’s market-leading foreign exchange, international payment and multi-currency account solutions.”
Andy Valentine added: “Having spent a decade working with big names in the foreign exchange industry, to develop their client partnerships, I have the perfect experience to benefit freemarket’s partnership program. It is exciting to be involved in a market-leading company such as freemarket, which is effectively opening up the international market by giving SMEs access to affordable FX for the first time. I am also enormously excited to be spearheading the new Marketplaces solution.”
