Unit21 Elevates Fraud Prevention for Fintechs with Fingerprint’s Device Intelligence

Unit21 Fingerprint Device Intelligence is now helping fintechs detect and stop fraud with real-time analysis. In order to detect threats like device spoofing and repeated logins before they cause harm, the new integration with Fingerprint gathers more than 100 device and network signals.

Unit21 is the most flexible real-time fraud and AML platform that empowers fintechs to build and adapt faster than fraudsters without the need for complex coding, cumbersome reporting processes, or lengthy analyses.

“Combating fraud as a fintech is swift and complex. Without the right tools, the speed of crime will continue to outpace the speed of prevention,” said Dhiraj Bhat, Product Lead, Fraud Solutions of Unit21. “Embedding Fingerprint’s device intelligence technology into Unit21 brings real-time fraud prevention to the next level, empowering teams to prevent threats and not just review them after the fact.”

Fintechs face significant challenges in preventing fraud. With access to persistent, highly accurate device IDs and real-time Smart Signals, such as Bot Detection, VPN Detection, and more, fintechs using Fingerprint and Unit21 can expand their arsenal of insights to combat bad actors. These newly added capabilities help tackle complex fraud types, including:

  • Credential stuffing: Detects bot activity and repeated login attempts across multiple accounts from the same device.
  • Elder & emergency scams: Identifies potentially suspicious activity such as new or unrecognized devices accessing an account and IP geolocation mismatches, which can signal scammers attempting to exploit vulnerable users.
  • Tech support scams: Detects use of virtual machines, developer tools and abnormal device behavior, such as unusual spikes in activity, as well as new logins from unfamiliar devices or locations.
  • Geolocation spoofing: Detects mismatched time zones, use of proxies, and other methods fraudsters use to evade detection.

Adding Fingerprint’s device intelligence capabilities complements Unit21’s fraud and AML prevention solution that includes real-time fraud detection, dynamic risk modeling, scalable compliance automation, and flexible data ingestion.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Unit21 to integrate advanced device intelligence with one of the industry’s leading fraud and AML platforms. By combining Fingerprint’s industry-leading accuracy and reliability with Unit21’s powerful, flexible, and scalable platform, we can deliver real-time signals to detect and stop fraud faster to better protect customers,” shared Shaun Per, Vice President of Global Sales at Fingerprint.

With Unit21 Fingerprint Device Intelligence, Fintechs are able to combat fraud more quickly thanks to real-time behavioural insights and persistent ID tracking.
