Tietoevry Banking Enters Germany’s ATM Market Through New SaaS Agreement With IC Cash Services
Tietoevry Banking has signed a five-year software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreement with IC Cash Services, marking its first step into Germany’s ATM market. Through a robust and fully regulatory-compliant platform, the partnership will enable secure and efficient cash distribution across IC Cash’s European network of 2,500 ATMs, while supporting cost reductions and operational efficiency in Germany’s cash ecosystem.
IC Cash and its subsidiary In2 Retail operate approximately 2,500 ATMs across Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Spain, Denmark and Ireland. The companies have selected Tietoevry Banking’s solution to support their expansion strategy across these markets, leveraging the security, scalability and operational efficiency of Tietoevry Banking’s private cloud-based ATM solution.
“Our partnership with IC Cash marks an important step as we bring our trusted ATM solution to Germany. For banks, ATM operators and consumers, this means more secure and efficient access to cash, supported by a robust and regulatory-compliant SaaS platform. Having already reduced costs and complexity in cash handling across the Nordics and the Netherlands, we are now well positioned to deliver the same benefits in the German market, including full support for the girocard system, which is central to the country’s payment ecosystem,” says Mario Blazevic, Manging Director at Tietoevry Banking.
“Tietoevry Banking’s ATM platform gives us the technological foundation we need to scale efficiently across multiple markets. Covering the major card schemes including girocard in Germany, the proven multivendor approach and centralized, highly integrated operations model aligns perfectly with our ambitions to continue our growth in Europe,” says Dr. Kersten Trojanus, CEO at IC Cash.
The agreement also marks the beginning of a partnership in the German and Austrian markets, where the companies aim to bring new efficiency and jointly shape the future of ATM pooling solutions.
Tietoevry Banking ATM Services connects over 10,000 ATMs across the Nordics and the Netherlands, where its delivery model has proven to significantly reduce banks’ cash handling costs. By bringing this approach to Germany, the company will contribute to more efficient and sustainable cash circulation in a market with around 50,000 ATMs, further strengthened by full support for the girocard domestic scheme.
