Qonto Launches Account Remuneration Feature Offering up to 4% Returns
Qonto, Europe’s leading business finance management solution, today announces the launch of remunerated business accounts across France, Spain, and the Netherlands. Starting today, customers can earn up to 4% on their account balance for using Qonto’s payment services.
With this launch, Qonto aims to answer 88% of SMEs in the European Union who expressed that the remuneration of accounts represents a major need for them when it comes to business banking, according to a survey conducted by Appinio for Qonto in August 2025.
This announcement comes only a few months after the official submission of Qonto’s banking license application, where the company announced its aim to offer savings products and even more extensive credit offerings.
Detailed overview of the new feature:
- Linked to Qonto’s payment services: With the account remuneration feature, customers are rewarded for using Qonto’s payment services
- Easy activation: Active Qonto customers with at least 5 transactions/month of 1€ or more can easily activate the feature (3 clicks) and automatically receive the
remuneration on their main account every month
- Availability & ease of use: Customers don’t need an additional account for the remuneration. The gains are directly accessible on the business account and can be used for day-to-day expenses or unexpected spending.
- Visibility and forecasting: Earnings can be forecasted thanks to historical and predictive insights
- Remuneration by account type: Annual equivalent rates (AER) range from 1.0% to 2% with caps ranging from €50,000 to €200,000, depending on the customer’s subscription level. For the launch of the offer, the new customers on eligible plans can benefit from an exceptional rate of 4% for the first two months.
The launch addresses critical market demand, with a Qonto survey conducted with Appinio across France, Germany, Italy, and Spain last month showing strong appetite for remuneration of accounts among European businesses. When asked whether receiving remuneration (such as a 2% rate) on their business account would influence their choice of banking provider, 88% of SMEs responded that it would be a primary reason to choose or switch providers.
“Remuneration of accounts has been the number one requested feature from our customers – and market research shows that it matters for SMEs across the European Union,” said Albertine Lecointe, VP Product at Qonto. “We’re proud to now offer them a remuneration of up to 4%, which is directly accessible on their business accounts – and not on a separate account as it’s often the case. As always, our goal at Qonto is to make things as easy and seamless as possible for our customers – and with our new Account Remuneration feature we did exactly that”.
