Melinda’s career spans 20 years, with her experience focussed on financial services and technology, most recently at Afterpay as global lead of its small and medium business segment. Melinda previously held roles in Uber as its UK & Ireland CEO, Square as Head of UK and Europe and ten years at Paypal in various roles culminating as the Head of Small and Medium Business for EMEA. This appointment sees Melinda returning to Lloyds Bank, having previously worked at the bank between 2006 and 2008.

Melinda has a joint MBA from Columbia and London Business Schools and is a recognised leader in the technology field, having received various accolades, most recently as one of the Top 100 Women in 2021 by Technology Magazine.

Elyn Corfield, CEO, Business & Commercial Banking, said: “Melinda brings deep payments and financial technology experience, combined with a deep passion for helping small and medium sized businesses to fulfil their growth ambitions. This will be invaluable as we look to support the increasing card and alternative payments needs of our business clients. I’m delighted to welcome Melinda and look forward to working with her as we enhance our merchant cards proposition in the years ahead.”

Melinda Roylett, Managing Director, Merchant Services, said: “I have spent the majority of my career enabling small businesses and consumers to achieve their goals better through financial services and technology. I am very excited to be returning back to Lloyds Bank, to help their small and medium business customers prosper through access to market leading payments solutions.”
