Krom Bank Renews Multi-Year Partnership With Mambu to Accelerate Digital Banking Innovation in Indonesia

PT Krom Bank Indonesia Tbk (“Krom”), a leading digital bank and subsidiary of Kredivo Group, has renewed its partnership with global SaaS cloud banking platform Mambu for five years after a successful collaboration on the launch of the Krom digital banking app in 2024. The extended partnership underscores Krom’s continued confidence in Mambu’s composable core banking platform as it continues its mission to grow profitably and reach over 20 million accounts by 2030.

Krom aims to serve the 75% of the Indonesian population that remains unbanked or underbanked. The bank selected Mambu as its core banking partner in March 2022 and in under 12 months, it went live with personal and business daily banking products, including current accounts, savings and term deposits.

Since then, Krom has emerged as one of Indonesia’s fastest-growing digital banks, leveraging Mambu’s core banking platform and cutting-edge cloud technologies from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to bring high-yield, fully digital financial services to young and underbanked Indonesians.

The renewal strengthens Mambu’s presence in APAC where it helps established banks modernise their core infrastructure and innovate and helps digital natives to launch and scale quickly.

This marks a deepening strategic partnership with a digital-first innovator at the forefront of financial inclusion in Southeast Asia. Mambu will enable the continued rollout of innovative financial products over the next five years at speed and scale, including additional deposits and loan offerings tailored to Indonesia’s digital-native consumers. The bank also plans to integrate generative AI-driven services, enhance workforce cloud capabilities, and further accelerate product development – all supported by Mambu’s scalable core and AWS infrastructure.

“Mambu has proven to be a powerful partner from day one. Our renewed partnership is a key step in Krom’s long-term strategy to build a scalable, innovative, and inclusive digital bank for Indonesians”, says Anton Hermawan, President Director, Krom Bank. “With Mambu’s cloud-native core and the flexibility it provides, we’ve been able to launch high-impact products faster, stay compliant, and deliver a seamless experience to our customers. As we target 20 million accounts by 2030, Mambu continues to be a trusted partner on our growth journey.”

“Krom Bank is a standout example of what’s possible when bold vision meets modern technology”, says David Becker, Managing Director, Head of APAC Sales at Mambu. “Its rapid growth and strong financial performance are a testament to how a cloud-native, composable core like Mambu can support scale and agility in even the most complex markets. We’re proud to renew our partnership and continue supporting Krom’s mission to expand access to high-quality digital banking in Indonesia.”

As the first fully digital bank in Indonesia built on the Mambu SaaS platform and underpinned by Amazon Web Services (AWS), Krom’s success demonstrates the strength of a cloud-first, API-enabled architecture in emerging markets. The partnership illustrates how digital-first institutions can go from concept to go-live in record time, scaling fast without compromising compliance or customer experience.
