Jersey Evening Post Puts Ink to Paper in New Partnership With MHR
Jersey Evening Post, a local newspaper in the Bailiwick of Jersey, has signed onto a new partnership with HR, payroll and finance specialist, MHR, to streamline its HR and payroll processes through its People First solution.
Jersey Evening Post was founded in 1890 and is one of the major news outlets on the island. Having completed a recent merger with the Bailiwick Express in October 2022, the newspaper needed a simple, secure way to keep track of employee data and manage its HR processes.
Its existing process was in part paper-based and relied heavily on outdated manual processes for reporting. These tasks created inconsistencies and meant a lot of employee time was being wasted on admin.
People First will consolidate all internal communications onto one, single platform, while giving Jersey Evening Post improved reporting capabilities, from absence reports to performance reviews.
MHR’s People First platform is set to boost efficiency across the entire business, starting at the recruitment and onboarding stage, offering new joiners a quick and intuitive hiring process.
Gemma Corfield, HR Team at Jersey Evening Post, said: “After merging with the Bailiwick Express, we recognised we needed to streamline our approach to managing employee data. Our previous legacy system was outdated, and to improve efficiency across the business we looked at MHR to provide us with a new platform that would deliver on those objectives. Thanks to People First, we have a new performance plan in development, and People First’s capability to log individual’s goals and progress against their online profile is going to supplement this perfectly.”
Anton Roe, Chief Executive Officer of MHR International, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Jersey Evening Post and bringing a newspaper which has been in operation for more than 130 years into the twenty first century. Our People First platform will automate key HR processes and greatly improve efficiencies, saving employees valuable time.”
