Adyen appoints Nicole Olbe as UK Managing Director to drive growth in UK business

Adyen, the global financial technology platform of choice for leading enterprise businesses, has today announced the appointment of Nicole Olbe as Managing Director of its UK operations.

Nicole joins from Barclaycard Payments after a 10-year tenure in multiple leadership roles across payments integrations and commercial roles most recently leading the Payments Partnership’s division as Managing Director. She brings expertise in Payment Acceptance including PSPs, Point of Interaction (POI), software partner ecosystems, B2B and acquiring. She joins Adyen with over twenty years of experience within the financial services sector, covering strategy, solution delivery and commercial management on an international scale.

A proud advocate of DE&I in the Finance and Technology sector, Nicole sits on the advisory board of Women in Payments EMEA, a global organisation of women from across the payments and fintech industry united by a shared vision for gender parity.

“Nicole has an in-depth knowledge of the global payments and digital landscape,” commented Alexa von Bismarck, President of EMEA at Adyen. “Her appointment enables us to better serve scale ups and UK enterprises who are looking to fuel their growth domestically and globally, with our financial technology platform built in-house. I’m looking forward to collaborating with Nicole to help businesses adapt to a complex, fast-moving environment.”

“We help businesses to achieve their ambitions with purpose-built technology for enterprise scale and complexity,” Olbe added. “We have just been awarded a UK banking authorisation, and in the last 12 months launched embedded financial products, and helped our clients to defend themselves against fraud. We understand business ambition, what our clients want, and we are supporting them with a platform that can engineer success. I can’t wait to hit the ground running with the talented Adyen team.”
