Equals announces partnership with Premier League’s Watford FC

International money management specialist Equals, has announced a new partnership with Watford FC, providing the Premier League club with specialist payment services until the end of the season.

The partnership will see Equals provide expert financial services to the Premier League club including a corporate spend management tool, multi-currency cards, and international payments. The services, designed to simplify the way companies manage their finances, saving them time and money, will be made available to Watford FC’s entire membership base as well as the players and staff.

The agreement opens new revenue streams for both Watford and Equals via player transfers as Equals will help service the club’s international payments. Watford FC members and players will benefit from Equals’ highly competitive rates including saving money on any transfer activity. In return, the immensity of transfer values in the Premier League will represent a significant volume of potential new business over the course of the season.

As an Official Partner to Watford FC, Equals will benefit from direct exposure to the club’s members, as well as introductions to the corporate network of Watford FC.

The partnership with Watford FC is the latest addition to Equals’ sport sponsorship in the UK, having previous sponsored Sky’s Formula 1 coverage, and a partnership with former Premier League Champions, Leicester City.

Commenting on the partnership, Ian Strafford Taylor, CEO of Equals said: “We are very happy to be partnering with Watford FC and supporting them with their financial needs as well as offering our money management services to their wider membership base. Money management is under the spotlight for every business, but perhaps none more-so than football clubs where such large sums of money are at stake every year.”

“We’re excited to show how our innovative solutions can benefit the Watford FC fans, players, management and wider corporate network.”

“There are strong comparisons in our values and the Hornets’, with the club having established a reputation as a ‘Community Club’ with a strong focus on the fan-base, and Equals continuing to do the same in our customer-first stance when it comes to managing money.”

Chairman & CEO Scott Duxbury of Watford FC said:

“Our ambition to involve ourselves in new initiatives isn’t breaking news to anyone, I’m sure, and this partnership with Equals provides an excellent opportunity to benefit from their undoubted industry expertise.

“We’re looking forward to mutually beneficial relationship, which will I’m sure also be of real interest to many of our supporters.”
