Enfuce: “The only companies to survive are the ones that take action and systematically work to achieve net zero”
Enfuce’s total emissions for the year 2021 were 461 metric tonnes. To assess the company’s climate change impacts and create a strategy for the future, Enfuce uses My Carbon Action.
Sustainability has been one of Enfuce’s core values since its foundation in 2016. The company drives environmental awareness and corporate responsibility in products, partnerships, and everyday business. Sustainability is also a key value and driver for many of Enfuce’s customers and their customers.

Climate Pledge sets the grounds, My Carbon Action transforms data into concrete insights
After signing the Climate Pledge* in July 2021, Enfuce commits to measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis, implementing decarbonisation strategies in line with the Paris Agreement through real business changes and innovations, and neutralising any remaining emissions with additional, quantifiable, real, permanent, and socially beneficial offsets to achieve net zero annual carbon emissions by 2040.
To identify areas for further carbon emission reductions, Enfuce uses My Carbon Action, a tool to advocate sustainable choices.
My Carbon Action harnesses payments data and transforms it into concrete carbon footprint insights in real time. The underlying data model for My Carbon Action has been developed by Enfuce together with the environmental consultancy D-mat.
“Technology can help us turn around the future of the planet. The state-of-the-art carbon calculator My Carbon Action we developed is a good example, and we wanted to prove its power by using it for our own reporting. With My Carbon Action, we were able to drill down on transaction level and get highly accurate carbon emissions. We were also able to give personalised tips to our employees to provide them with insight on how they could reduce their emissions,” says Niklas Apellund, CTO and Co-Founder at Enfuce.
Identifying emission sources makes acting easier
Enfuce’s total emissions for the year 2021 were 461 metric tonnes.
“Payment data is an endless source of sustainability insight, and we encourage companies to harness it for the good of the planet. In our own data and calculations, we were able to identify much of our emissions based on the activities they originated from. With this ability, we can better understand our emissions and take impactful action. We know where to focus our attention and how to produce effective reduction strategies,” explains Denise Johansson, Co-CEO and Co-Founder at Enfuce.
Enfuce’s emissions come mainly indirectly from the activities the company engages in throughout the value chain, the employees’ business travel and commuting, and the energy used to run the services obtained, for example, cloud and marketing services.
Further emission reductions are achievable through lowering the emissions related to these activities. For example:
- Enfuce continues to work closely with the suppliers to reduce carbon emissions by mapping the suppliers and requiring that they value and focus on sustainability.
- Software is chosen not only based on commercial terms but also based on sustainability. This is extended also to other equipment, such as office furniture.
- For business travel, Enfuce is adjusting company policies to ensure that the flights are booked with airline companies focusing on sustainability issues or those which have a higher percentage of lower carbon fuel stock. Enfuce will book hotels embracing recycling and using green energy.
- Enfuce is encouraging its employees to walk or bike or use public transport or a carpool when coming to the office.
- Enfuce will have educational forums to increase the knowledge around emissions and share new policies and practical steps employees can take to reduce emissions.
- Enfuce bought carbon credits corresponding to their total emissions from 2021
