The Hamburg Open Officially Becomes the Bitpanda Hamburg Open
The Hamburg Open, one of the most prestigious and historic ATP 500 tournaments in the world, has announced Bitpanda, Europe’s leading crypto broker, as its new title sponsor. Starting today, the tournament will be officially named ‘Bitpanda Hamburg Open’.
Held at the iconic Rothenbaum venue, the Hamburg Open has built a legacy as Germany’s longest-standing tennis tournament and a fan-favorite in global clay. This marks the first time the Vienna-based company takes on title sponsorship of an ATP tournament – writing a new chapter in the over 100-year history of the Hamburg event.
Eric Demuth, CEO and Co-Founder of Bitpanda, commented: “I remember this tournament from when I was a young boy chasing autographs from my idols. I’m glad that this fantastic ATP 500 event still takes place here in Hamburg. It’s a tournament that attracts international top stars and sets a real highlight just one week before Roland Garros. That speaks volumes for the city and for this unique venue, which holds many great memories for me.”
From May 17 to 24, 2025, the Bitpanda Hamburg Open will bring world-class tennis to the city. Leading the field is Jannik Sinner – the first World No. 1 to play in Hamburg since 2008. Also competing are Lorenzo Musetti, 2022 Hamburg champion and newly ranked in the Top 10, and Holger Rune, recent ATP 500 Barcelona winner. The line-up is rounded out by Stefanos Tsitsipas, Tommy Paul, Frances Tiafoe, and Andrey Rublev. In total, three Top-10 and 14 Top-30 players are set to compete.
“We are thrilled to welcome Bitpanda to our great family of partners as the title sponsor of our tournament,” said Enric Molina Mur, Tournament Director of the Bitpanda Hamburg Open and Partner of Tennium, the event organiser. “This partnership is a sign of trust and no doubt strengthens our tournament in line with our vision to grow the event by continued investments for the benefit of all stakeholders involved. Bitpanda, a renowned leading international company, shares our passion for tennis and brings an innovative perspective that will contribute to the continued success and growth of the tournament.”
To announce the title sponsorship, Bitpanda took an unconventional approach: on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the brand projected its new Bitpanda Hamburg Open logo onto buildings across the city. The timing was no coincidence – it coincided with the OMR Festival, one of Europe’s largest digital marketing and tech conferences.
This sponsorship underscores Bitpanda’s growing commitment to tennis. In addition to being an official partner of the ATP Tour, Bitpanda supports top players like Alexander Zverev, Stan Wawrinka, and Dominic Thiem, and is also a proud sponsor of leading football clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, FC Bayern Munich, AC Milan, and FC Basel.
