Garanti BBVA Crypto Names New CEO
Garanti BBVA Crypto Asset Trading Platform, part of the Garanti BBVA Group, recently announced that Korcan Abalı will be stepping down as CEO and Onur Güven will replace him. Güven has been a senior manager at a variety of renowned financial technology companies.
Onur Güven began as a business intelligence consultant for major telecommunications companies and banks in 2002. Between 2007 and 2015, Güven held key roles in business intelligence, data and product management at Turkcell. He was also one of the founders of Paycell, working first as Deputy General Manager and then as CEO in 2015. In 2022, he became the Country Director of Crypto.com Turkiye, leading the company’s entry into the Turkish market. In 2023, he was appointed CEO and a Board Member of BtcTurk Crypto, and most recently was the founder and CEO of FI Strat.
Onur Güven holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Engineering from Yıldız Technical University and an Executive MBA from Özyeğin University. He has more than 20 years of experience in financial technologies, digital assets, crypto/blockchain.
