AWS’ Karen Mae Ching on Partnering with Providers to Offer Better Products or Services
Karen Mae Ching, Global Financial Services Partner Sales Program Lead at AWS talks to Doug Mackenzie about the ways that AWS can partner with Financial Institutions to help them offer better products & services to their client bases.
“We are in a regulated industry right? We have to work with the regulators to really understand data privacy, right? So, it’s quite prevalent right now. If you take a look a the likes of Monzo, where we’re building with AWS. When we talk about the likes of Monzo, they really want to understand how to be a disruptor. So when Monzo was created, they said this is what we want to target agile, mobile & no fuss banking.”
“So you open [Monzo] and you get it now, you use it right away. That has been sort of a baseline of all those digital banks that have come in, although right now there is stiff competition. Because someone out there will discover something better from what you’re doing at this point. But the most important thing there is what is the problem that we are trying to solve?”
