Anansi integrates embedded goods-in-transit insurance into EKM the UK’s largest e-commerce platform

Anansi, the insurtech company, is pleased to announce it has partnered with e-commerce platform EKM to integrate embedded goods-in-transit insurance and offer it to their entire network of e-commerce clients.

The integration will improve the goods-in-transit insurance experience for EKM retailers by offering a digital alternative to carrier liability cover, and help close the industry wide protection gap in which 90% of goods in transit are under or uninsured.

With online sales now making up over one-third of the UK retail market share, delayed, damaged and missing goods continue to rise, regularly impacting retailers and their customers’ experience. Retailers using Anansi will be able to automatically protect their goods up to the full retail value, avoid cumbersome manual claims experiences, and protect their customer delivery experience.

The new digital service eradicates admin and automates the customer journey from start to finish including an automated claims process for lost and delayed parcels, triggered parametrically by predefined time thresholds.

Commenting on the partnership, Mark Gilbertson, Channel Partner Manager at EKM, said: “EKM is constantly on the lookout for innovative technology to assist our network of thousands of independent retailers. Anansi’s automated goods-in-transit insurance will help retailers better protect their goods, bottom line and customer experience.”

Megan Bingham-Walker, Co-Founder & CEO of Anansi, adds: “The Anansi-EKM partnership is the start of an exciting new era for Anansi. We’re thrilled to be working with the UK’s leading e-commerce platform, EKM, and look forward to the Anansi service alleviating some of the pressures facing many e-commerce businesses.”
