Adyen partners with the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund to support the World Health Organization
Adyen, the global payments platform of choice for many of the world’s leading companies, today announced its partnership with the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the World Health Organization (WHO). The fund is powered by the United Nations Foundation and the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation and quickly gets vital funding to where it’s needed most, supporting the WHO’s efforts to prevent, detect, and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are all affected by the growing COVID-19 outbreak. It’s an unprecedented health challenge and requires people from all sectors to play a role in a collective solution. Donations support the WHO and partners’ work to track and understand the spread of the virus, to ensure patients get the care they need and frontline workers get essential supplies and information, and to accelerate efforts to develop vaccines, tests and treatments,” said Kate Dodson, the United Nations Foundation’s VP for Global Health.
With this partnership, Adyen’s merchants can now easily collect donations for the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund by accepting charitable donations from their shoppers through Adyen Giving. This occurs seamlessly and at no cost – Adyen will absorb the full cost of the additional transaction.
“The combined strengths of the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and our technology enables the collection of donations for the fund at scale”, comments Ingo Uytdehaage, CFO of Adyen. “The COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund is an amazing example of responding positively to a global crisis. I’m hoping we’ll see many of our merchants getting on board to support them – we’re ready.”
