Synoptic launches Reactivate to enable UK firms to get back to work

Synoptic, the global software company that improves the efficiency of business operations by aggregating and applying real-time data, today launches Synoptic Reactivate. As lockdown restrictions begin to ease, Synoptic Reactivate is designed to facilitate the safe and efficient reopening of business across the UK, whilst minimising the potential problems this movement of people could pose for the NHS.

To Synoptic it seems clear that it is employers who are best placed to decide not only when, and how they reopen but also to manage the health of their staff once they are at work. Synoptic Reactivate empowers employers to take all the reasonable steps to provide a safe working environment for their staff.

The solution offers a twofold approach to reopening business; the first is to consider when and where it is safe to re-open, based on all the available data and the second is to ensure the safety and health of its employees. When you consider the data that is needed to safeguard an employee, for the most part, it is already being consensually shared with the employer, details such as age or commuting details are prime examples. For employees too, it is also wholly preferable that this data remains localised to their employer. Synoptic Reactivate simply connects the internal and external data dots to provide insight, enable decision making and most importantly inject much needed confidence and fluidity back into the economy.

By cross referencing the data gathered in the four modular applications outlined below, Synoptic Reactivate is able to answer vital questions.

  • Impact App: Uses geospatial capabilities to determine how the virus has, and could, impact  specific areas based on the vulnerability of its demographic. The same capabilities are also applied to assess the potential for business in that area, based on how much it has opened up. All of this data can be extrapolated to critically assess where it is safe to re-open. Once the location of a specific asset has been deemed ‘safe’, the Impact App can then quantify the economic consequences of re-opening by determining the number of staff needed to run vs the % of business needed to generate profit. For those assets that should remain closed, the Impact App provides a predictive analysis based on future threat, giving organisations the ability to plan for these assets and their staff accordingly.
  • Health App: Securely surveys and assesses all the data provided by employees. Based on the data aggregated within the Health App, specific organisation members may monitor the health of employees and determine the suitability of their return to work based for example on their age.  As testing is administered within organisations, the Health App stores and monitors employee test result data. As well this, daily symptom updates, as input by employees themselves, are monitored and reviewed confidentially by those with the necessary access. Finally, the Health App may also be used to monitor and manage PPE and sanitizer levels within every organisation to avoid shortages.
  • Schedule App:  Manages the incremental restart of every employee. Based on the data aggregated by the other three apps, the Schedule App assigns employees to dynamic groups. These dynamic groups are then used to coordinate employee shift scheduling via a visual and interactive calendar. The Schedule App offers mobile accessibility enabling each employee both visual and multi-modal communication capabilities within the app. The Schedule App may also be used to distribute data-driven intelligence reporting, on a one-to-one or one-to-many basis, meaning if a situation were to change rapidly, employers are able to communicate this effectively and efficiently, protecting employees from potential harm.
  • Travel App: Tracks health-related interactions of employees to safely and securely minimize the spread of COVID-19 within your workforce. This may also be used to provide a digital trail and timeline of any employee, detailing the mode of transport they used to get from home to work and potential hotspots they visited on any journey on any specific day. Alongside the Schedule App the Travel App may be used to manage the safe daily commute of every employee.  The Travel App offers visuals of integrated APIs including TFL, Santander Bicycles, National Rail and Uber. Employers may set up an account within the Travel App to bulk purchase any number of journeys of an integrated API system.

The Reactivate Solution is modelled on Synoptic’s Critical Care Solution which was developed for the NHS, and provides NHS hospitals, trusts and critical care clinicians with powerful internal applications for monitoring and managing resources, staff and COVID-19 data, in real-time, by utilising internal and external data sources.

Synoptic is owned by Infinite Software, a London based firm that works with some of the largest companies in the world across multiple sectors, managing personal data sizes ranging from 5,000 identities to 480,000 identities. Synoptic is now working with sovereign states and political regions on delivering a unified platform for delivering valuable insights for more efficient data analysis and assisting in real-time critical decisions.

Graeme Scott, Founder and CEO at Synoptic said: “The COVID-19 pandemic has overwhelmingly laid bare how unprepared many businesses have been in their ability to manage the impact of unexpected circumstances. With existing Government guidelines lacking clarity, our Synoptic Reactivate solution is designed to empower businesses to take back the responsibility for their own operations in a safe, clear and responsible manner by allowing them to monitor when and where it is safe and appropriate for employees to return to work. By providing businesses with a simple and unified approach, businesses can improve their understanding of the probability of certain risks happening and will be able to better mitigate them and deliver on company missions no matter what the disruption. The full picture of any situation is rarely black and white and it is Synoptic’s mission to join the dots and provide clarity in a chaotic world.”
