Rachel Waters – Supporting Underrepresented Groups Within The Industry
FF News caught up with Rachel Waters, Deputy Head of Platform Technology at Man Group, to explore how companies can support underrepresented groups.
Man Group is a leading global investment management firm, specialising in alternative investment strategies. They offer a diverse range of investment solutions to institutional and private investors worldwide.
“We’re working with an organisation called Code First Girls, and that is helping us get more female technologists into the industry … They are bringing us even more diversity than we bargain for. We knew we were going to get more women and non-binary people, but what we’re actually getting is lots of different disciplines as well.”
“We try to offer flexibility for every parent to do the drop-offs and pick-ups and to do the sports days. I work in a team that’s predominantly male, and it’s great that the dads in the team are participating fully and feel that it’s normal for them to participate fully in the lives of their children.”
