At the MoneyLIVE Summit 2023, we caught up with Jonathan Steele, the Head of Banking at SAS UK. SAS uses AI & Data Analytics to help support clients across a wide range of industries to accomplish their commercial goals.

“In the banking team here in SAS UK, we help our clients solve complex and data-related problems whether that be in risk, fraud, financial crime and of course customer experience.”

“It’s been dramatic hasn’t it, especially in the last 3 years. The pandemic hit in 2020 and knocked the whole world sideways, and that was very keenly felt in the banking sector. I think there was a real concern that lots of people were going to default on loan repayments and mortgage repayments. As people found themselves out of a job, people you would never have imagined would be out of work, and government intervention came along and I think that really helped cushion that blow.”
