TCF 2025: Temenos and Tech Mahindra – A 25-Year Partnership, Reimagined with AI
At TCF 2025, Monty Bhatia, Temenos, and Pankaj Kulkarni, Tech Mahindra, discussed their long standing partnership, the importance of collaboration, and the evolving role of AI in banking.
Pankaj opened by describing Tech Mahindra’s 25-year relationship with Temenos as the cornerstone of its BFSI offering and called Temenos the “diamond” in their crown jewel of banking products. He emphasised over 1,000 certified Temenos specialists at Tech Mahindra, the value of hard-won experience from past challenges, and the strength of the individuals who have made that partnership deliver consistently.
He highlighted the recent success with Raiffeisen Bank in Bosnia Herzegovina, crediting the outcome to three things: strong people on the ground, seamless collaboration with the Temenos team during tough moments, and the use of proprietary accelerators that help capture and reuse knowledge from past projects.
Bhatia echoed this sentiment, stating that true partnership requires a mindset shift. Tech Mahindra isn’t just a vendor; they’re treated as part of the Temenos team and with 750 Temenos service staff and 8,000 partner personnel working together, the scale and unity are key to delivering results for banks globally. He also noted that Tech Mahindra is now a co-innovation partner, not just a systems integrator.
Both speakers touched on the impact of AI and Generative AI. Pankaj noted the buzz around AI in BFSI, but urged focus on real value and highlighted Temenos’ latest AI innovations. In short, this is more than just a tech partnership, it’s a shared vision for what banking transformation should look like in the AI era.
