FF Tattoo Studio: Vyntra on Keeping Instant Payments Real-Time and Safe

Joël Winteregg of Vyntra sat down at the FF News Tattoo Studio during Sibos 2025 in Frankfurt to outline the company’s mission. Winteregg says Vyntra exists to do two things at once: keep instant payments genuinely real-time (through SLA and resilience monitoring) and keep them safe (through fraud and AML controls). It’s about closing the gap banks still feel between the promise of “instant” and the operational reality of speed plus safety.

On the recent merger, Winteregg frames it as a response to mounting pressure on banks as customer behaviour shifts from cards to mobile and instant payments. He points to Kenya’s long-running M-Pesa model as a preview of where Europe and the US are heading, with more transactions moving off cards and onto account-to-account rails. Bringing a real-time monitoring specialist together with NetGuardians’ risk and fraud expertise creates one platform that addresses performance and risk under the same roof.

Asked why he’s the right person to lead, Winteregg leans on his engineering, product-first mindset: find real problems and solve them with technology that adapts to what customers are experiencing now. Events like Sibos help the team listen, refine, and ship accordingly. He likens building the company to Lego, assembling many pieces to produce something useful.

Culturally, Winteregg is candid: integration takes time and rather than “replacing” cultures, the focus is on finding common denominators and building shared ways of working. Workshops have started that journey, but the aim is steady progress, not overnight change.
