FF News Tattoo Studio: Form3 Setting the Standard for A2A Payments
David Scola, Chief Product Officer and Chief Executive for the US at Form3, joined the FF News Tattoo Studio during Sibos 2025. Scola leads product strategy for Form3’s cloud-native platform for account-to-account payments, technology built to run across the major public clouds and meet the reliability demands of the world’s biggest banks, for banks around the world.
Asked to define the company’s purpose, Scola puts it plainly: Form3 aims to be the default platform for account-to-account (A2A) payments in every market it operates in and points to architecture as a differentiator. The platform spans three public clouds and is engineered for resilience, because when you sit in the flow of instant, high-value or high-volume transactions, uptime and fault-tolerance are table stakes. Multi-cloud design reduces dependency on any single provider and helps banks meet strict availability targets.
Priorities, he says, fall into two buckets with the first being people. Growth isn’t only a revenue target; it’s how you create new challenges and leadership roles for an ambitious team. Form3 may be in its ninth year, but the goal is to keep the builder mindset while giving talented colleagues room to step up, lead and scale. The second is commercial and Form3 already serves some of the world’s largest banks, yet it still handles only a small portion of their workflows. The aim is to do more with those clients across rails and use cases.
On geography, Scola is pragmatic as there is still a lot to achieve in the United States, Europe and the UK, and that is where attention will stay with the U.S. in particular is a priority. Form3 has started to gain traction and sees a long runway as new markets such as India and Brazil are often raised, and Southeast Asia’s interoperability efforts are notable, but at roughly 200 people, the company intends to stick to its knitting and win decisively where it already competes.
