Personalising the Cardholder Experience with G+D
At Money20/20 Europe, Marika Pirhonen, Head of Sales at Giesecke+Devrient for the Nordic region, discussed how the company is helping payment card issuers bring more personalisation and efficiency to their services.
Pirhonen highlighted the growing importance of combining digital and physical experiences in the payments space. One area where this is especially clear is in hyper-personalisation allowing issuers to engage with end customers in more meaningful and tailored ways.
G+D’s Convego Card Designer tool is an example of using AI, to speed up the card design process while also giving customers the option to personalise their cards with images or designs of their own. This makes the experience more engaging for users and more efficient for issuers.
She also spoke about Convego Smart Interact, which links the physical issuance journey with digital touchpoints. From the moment a card is printed and personalised to when it arrives in the customer’s hands, issuers can offer a more connected and engaging experience.
G+D’s print-on-demand technology plays a key role too and allows issuers to test new card designs quickly, cater to smaller or niche customer segments, like teenagers or users with accessibility needs, and offer a higher degree of personalisation without large print runs.
Lastly, Pirhonen touched on G+D’s Issuance as a Service model. It supports issuers with modern, efficient operations through easy API integration, automation, and real-time data access. Across the board, Pirhonen made it clear that G+D is focused on helping issuers improve customer experience while making their own internal processes more flexible and future-ready
