Over in Vienna for the Temenos Community Forum 2023, we sat down for a conversation with Robert Wint, Senior Product Director at Temenos. Temenos are on a mission to power a world of banking that creates opportunity for everyone. They provide a banking platform to organisations of all sizes, from large financial institutions to brand-new neobanks.

“SMEs have been so underserved. It’s constantly said wherever you go. I think one of the major challenges is the bank’s ability to provide lending to businesses. I go back to many years ago, and I was working in a bank. The computer always said no when it came to a business, whether it didn’t know enough information about the business or whether they were a startup that had only been going a year and needed capital to grow. The bank doesn’t have enough information about them to help fund them.”

“So now, you’re seeing lending opportunities being met by organizations and we’re seeing technology firms and payments firms coming in and providing some short-term funding opportunities for businesses to help them keep their cashflow going.”
