Out in Vienna, at the Temenos Community Forum 2023, FF News caught up with Andrew Steadman, Senior Product Director at Temenos, to take a closer look at his position in the company and his ongoing responsibilities.

“One of the key elements of cloud platforms is their elastic scalability, being able to meet that demand as it comes in. Black Friday is the perfect example, it’s quite something to behold, but the volumes are incredible. And so as a result of that, you can’t afford to have the capacity to deal with that for the other 364 days. It’s just financially not viable, not cost effective. So going to a cloud environment where I can flex my capacity instantaneously to deal with that demand is key.”

“Cloud is a perfect platform to run advanced analytics, because you’re needing to make immediate decisions and determine immediate outcomes, with potentially quite a lot of data. So it’s a great platform for embracing some of these new technologies that retail banks are trying to get their heads around, and banks have been trying to deal with the volume of data they’ve had for so many years.”
