In Amsterdam for Money20/20 Europe 2023, we caught up with Maria Patschke, CEO of SAP Fioneer ESG Solutions. SAP Fionner’s ESG platform simplifies the complexity of regulations, reduces costs and provides visibility and reporting capabilities.

“I always hope that the main driver [behind ESG] is that banks and insurance companies are aware that they are still the biggest source of capital financing CO2 footprints. Obviously, it’s also a reputational topic, you want to avoid greenwashing. I definitely believe that no bank wants to do greenwashing.”

“It’s rather a lack of data. They don’t have the data to analyze it properly. Of course, as a sanity factor, we do have regulation and the regulation forces the European players to report on three factors as well.”
