Florian Graillot – Why the Next Insurtech Game Changer Could Come from Spain

In this conversation from the MAPFRE booth at The ITC DIA Europe Community event, we spoke to Florian Graillot, a Founding Partner of investment firm astorya.VC. The French firm is investing in insurtech across Europe where Graillot has been in the insurance space since the early days of insurtech.

He’s well placed to talk about how insurtech start-ups can stand out in today’s landscape as we move from a first wave of innovation to more meaningful, industry changing disruption.

There is still room for improvement he says, particularly around user experience, and there are many ‘new risks’ to identify, brought about by changing climates and the prevalence of cybercrime. We also get an insight into why Spain has plenty to offer as part of a wider European insurtech scene.
