What Would You Get Your AI Assistant to Do? | Money20/20 Europe
If you could get an AI assistant to do anything, what would it do?
AI is the number 1 topic on everyone’s lips so for our latest 60-second video, we asked Money20/20 Europe attendees what they would get a (not-so) hypothetical robot friend to do. The answers didn’t have to be fintech related and as it happened we got an interesting mix.
Turns out there are certain things we all want taken off our plate!
Everyone is talking about AI
There’s no question that the growth of AI companies, Generative AI’s mainstream popularity and investment in AI related startups is a major talking point across all industries.
It’s also taking up an increasing amount of Venture Capital funding, now accounting for 18% of all VC investments. And it had a big presence at Money20/20 too. There’s no question that they saw this as a big topic to lean into as shown by their very own VP of marketing, Geraint Jones, who was keen to promote their AI packed agenda, including the gorgeous, and striking Na.i.ture Stage which had its very own AI presenter.
AI is as big in fintech and finance as anywhere else and plenty of people mentioned it in a previous quickfire 60 second interview, when we asked what the biggest story of the year was.
We weren’t necessarily looking for finance related answers, although we have plenty of videos on our website with this as a theme. As it turns out, a lot of our attendees spoke about their work life being a place where it would make a real difference. Indeed, automating repetitive tasks is one of the top benefits of AI stated by multiple sources. Although there are many other ways it could be used or is already being used, according to this article from IBM.
What did Money20/20 Europe attendees say?
So what else did the people we spoke to say?
There were a number of interesting responses from those we spoke to including various aspects of admin. Updating the CRM came up. Essential but menial tasks.
Writing code was one answer and indeed there are already tools out there specifically dedicated to this, based on LLMs and generative AI platforms such as OpenAI’s Chat GPT.
Booking meetings and helping with taking meeting notes was another, as well as booking hotels in time for traveling with work. Clearly certain things would just be so much less stressful if they were done by a robot.
One of our guests simply said, manage my day to day life as her main thing that an AI assistant would do. This is certainly an appealing prospect for many people.
Watch the video to find out what else people said, from an autopilot Tesla, to making initial connections in business networking. And be sure to watch the rest of our Money20/20 coverage, right here.
