Why Should Merchants Attend MPE? | FF News at MPE 2024

Why should merchants attend MPE?

MPE is known for its strong merchant presence. It’s in the name after all.

The Merchants Payments Ecosystem does in fact bring the whole ecosystem together and with over 350 merchants in attendance, there’s something for everyone. In a previous video we got attendees’ thoughts on what makes this conference great.

But don’t take it from us. We asked the merchants themselves to also give their thoughts.

It’s important we get their perspective, as the conference wouldn’t be what it is without the merchants having the opportunity to speak to PSPs and the like.

This video contains thoughts from big and small names including Kilo Health, VW, and REMA 1000. We also get the thoughts of some smaller companies who are just starting out and discovering what is available in the payments space.

Kilo Health has a large portfolio of health and wellness products and services, including supplements, vitamins, and other health focused digital products. Of course as their business grows they will want to establish payment partners to go on that journey with them.

The German automotive giant Volkswagen is always going to be looking for the latest in payments technology. There is a lot of talk about embedded finance in vehicles and driving and there were certainly talks on that broader topic. There’s no doubt that in the future we will start to see some financial products built into your car, whether that’s paying for petrol or updating your lease or insurance from the driver’s seat. Indeed, the representative from VW here commends the insights she gained from discussions.

Glowing feedback for MPE

As for the other feedback we gained from our experts, there was plenty to say. One thing that was pointed out was the one-on-one engagements where you get the opportunity to engage directly with industry experts. These personalized interactions allow for in-depth discussions tailored to the specific needs and interests of each participant. The conference is also quite personal and not too big. There’s a clear sense that this conference prides itself on maintaining a more intimate atmosphere.

From the moment participants arrive, they are greeted with warmth and hospitality, fostering a sense of connection and belonging. This probably contributes to allowing time for more meaningful interactions and networking opportunities too.

It’s also a great opportunity to hear about the latest trends in the industry through a carefully curated program of keynote speeches, panel discussions, and breakout sessions. Whether learning about emerging technologies, market trends, or regulatory changes, attendees leave the conference with a wealth of knowledge that they can apply to their own work.

For some, it’s another opportunity to connect with familiar faces and make new friends. Whether reuniting with colleagues from past roles or striking up conversations with fellow attendees during networking breaks, it’s all part of the appeal.

A number of our speakers talked about certain sessions in particular. A lot of merchants of course want to know about fraud and there was plenty on offer in this area.

So there really was a whole host of reasons why merchants wanted to be there and lots to gain from attending. Be sure to watch the video above to find out more.
