What Makes MPE Different? | FF News at MPE 2024
What does the Merchant Payments Ecosystem do differently?
The team recently went to MPE in Berlin to speak to some key thought leaders in fintech and managed to catch a number of the exhibitors, speakers and attendees to get their thoughts on what sets it apart.
With over 1350 attendees, 160 speakers and over 350 merchants in attendance, this conference definitely holds its own, and its payments focus is a huge appeal to payments providers, and merchants alike.
According to the MPE website, a key focus is the high-level networking you can get there, giving attendees the opportunity to network with payment professionals and top global merchants. The fact that merchants are in the room is of particular interest of course, with many representatives looking for payment solutions that really allow them to be a part of the modern era. With changing consumer trends it’s so important to be prepared, whether that’s in e-commerce or in store.
Payments experts opinions
This feature was remarked upon by the attendees we interviewed. From the Intercontinental Hotel, our latest 60 second video has thoughts from thought leaders, executives and entrepreneurs at the heart of payments in Europe.
Commentary comes from spokespeople at some of the most important and innovative companies in Europe. We’ve got Aevi, the European in person payments experts, payments SaaS Brite Payments, from Stockholm, BNPL provider Ratepay, all round payments solutions provider BPC and Estonian neobank LHV. There are many other PSPs and tech providers included here and it was great to get their perspectives.
At the conference there are also dedicated program sessions and peer-to-peer discussions. With merchant focused workshops and topical tables it’s possible to be involved directly in industry discussions. You can take part in Q&A sessions with industry experts and get answers to burning questions.
Notable topics of discussion included, “how to obtain new customers, increase conversion and grow the business?”, “What to do to lower costs and optimize payment operations?”, “Effective risk & fraud management strategies. How to improve the lifetime value of a customer?”
Another thing worth mentioning that sets this particular conference apart is the venue itself.
Going for a retro vibe, celebrating the best of Berlin’s creative past, the conference takes place at the stunning InterContinental Hotel in Berlin, just down the road from the Zoo. The interior has a lot of natural light meaning this conference has a fresh and breezy feel. Not only that but being in the hotel, whilst providing ample space for networking, talks and exhibitors, also provides a warm feel that means attendees can get that intimate setting that a lot of our speakers were talking about.
Hear for yourself what makes this conference pop by watching the video above.
