MPE Gives You the Perfect Atmosphere | FF News at MPE 2024

MPE is “one of my favourite events”.

They are the word’s of one of the payments experts and conference attendees we spoke to at the Merchant Payments Ecosystem in Berlin last month. Darren Wood, from ACI Worldwide, was keen to point out how much he looks forward to the event each year.

We’ve covered it in previous videos where we got our guests, attendees, and experts to share their stand out moments from MPE. Be sure to check that out if you want their full thoughts.

In this highlights video, we wanted to give you a sneak peak of just what it was like to be there, as well as some more thoughts about the conference itself.

You’ll get an inside view of talks and panels that took place throughout the festival. There was an agenda packed full of discussions and insights on all the latest topics in payments, from AI to Embedded Finance and everything in between.

Another thing that characterises this festival is that there’s plenty of networking. As you’ll see, the rooms were always bustling with people, chattering away. Whether at booths or in the lobby, there were always conversations going on between collaborators, customers, potential customers and friends. The MPE app was specifically designed to facilitate these conversations and connections and allowed to set up meetings in advance.

And why wouldn’t you want to, when such an array of important stakeholders were in attendance, from cards, acquirers, networks, schemes, merchants, ISVs and more. It really was a gathering that spanned the whole ecosystem.

And what does all this networking lead to? A great atmosphere. Which is captured here too. We mentioned the appeal of the InterContinental Hotel in Berlin before, and this video shows how the impressive interior helps with that too. It’s a great space, with a light and airy feel that sets it apart from other conferences.

Of course, the teaser above also gives you a shot of some of the tasty food and drink on offer throughout. Not only was it good sustenance, it also provided yet another opportunity for networking, with people chatting away at lunchtimes.
