At Insurtech Insights 2024, Samuel Falmagne from Akur8 talked about a new addition to their product line: a reserving tool to go along with their current pricing solution. Falmagne said this change adds a new aspect to Akur8’s platform by bringing in a reserving solution, thanks to buying ARIUS, a company known for its deep know-how in this field.

He pointed out that the ARIUS team brings strong technical skills that will help Akur8 build this part of the product with certainty. De Linares noted that both Akur8’s current pricing clients and those already using ARIUS for reserving show more and more interest.

She found it interesting that clients are starting to see the value in linking these two separate processes.

As of now, pricing and reserving often work apart from each other in insurance companies, but there’s clear worth in having these two work more together. By combining these features, Falmagne and de Linares think Akur8 is in a good spot to connect pricing and reserving through tech. This helps insurance companies make decisions more and in sync with each other.
