About Todd Buchanan

Todd Buchanan is Coherent’s Chief Executive Officer, USA, leading the growth of innovative technology solutions in the insurance and investment markets across the United States. Having managed large teams to drive company-wide results in the insurance industry for 24 years, Todd brings an abundance of experience to Coherent. Previously as an executive in AIG’s Life and Retirement Division, Todd was responsible for a team of 500 employees, and was named Manager of the Year 9 times. Todd Buchanan also held the position of Senior Vice President, Market Management and Strategy, for a large life insurance subsidiary within AIG. Prior to entering the insurance industry, Todd served as a Captain in the US Army. Todd’s management and distribution experience, coupled with his strategy development and execution expertise, provide Coherent with a unique knowledge of the US insurance market. Todd Buchanan believes technology is critical in helping to speed up the process of ensuring every customer has access to the best insurance products and services to protect their families and futures.  Todd Buchanan is the current President of World Financial Group and has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry. Prior to their current position, Todd held various senior executive positions at companies such as AIG, Coherent, and Vineyard Capital Partners. Todd is known for their excellent management skills, having successfully overseen large teams and budgets at their previous companies. Todd is also recognized for their ability to maximize productivity and efficiency in their teams. In 2007, 2010, 2011, and 2014-2019, Todd Buchanan was named Manager of the Year due to their excellence in compliance, recruiting, retention, sales, and advisor productivity. At World Financial Group, Todd Buchanan has continued to display their exceptional leadership skills by developing a management operating system that has resulted in a 22% decrease in budget spend. Todd Buchanan has also steered multiple committees including field technology, advisor compensation, lobbyist strategy, and career development/segmentation.
