About Tobias Unger

Energetic and experienced C-level executive (CEO and COO) with strong team building and execution skills. During the first 9 years of my career, I focused on Financial Services, both as an M&A adviser and principal investor. I enjoyed the high-paced environment and met a ton of brilliant, ambitious and inspiring people across my colleagues, clients and target company management teams. Whilst I enjoyed the analytical and client facing side of the job, I also realised that my true passion was for Leadership and company building and thus I then joined my last client and started my executive management career as Deputy CEO / COO of a bank. During 7 years at the bank, I led many company building and transformation initiatives, such as entering new markets through setting up subsidiaries and building the business organically but also by acquiring businesses. I also focused on the digital transformation of the business by replatforming the IT landscape and by digitizing existing processes and building new digital business models. I was then hired by one of my suppliers to lead their largest business unit. I was part of the senior management team of this PE-owned software company for 3 years and focused on transforming the business by combining the software and services businesses into a SaaS business model and leading financial services clients on their cloud transformations. The business was ultimately sold in a >$2bn exit to a strategic acquirer. This experience led me „full circle“ back to the PE world, where I then consulted as a senior adviser. Most recently, I was hired by the Sopra Steria Group and currently serve in a dual role as CEO for Sopra Financial Technology as well as COO for Sopra Banking Software.
