About Stephanie Gabrielle Betts

Governance offers all the answers and all the tools we need to improve transparency, encourage climate mitigation, and re-wire the economy. The urgent need to fulfill investors’ requests for ‘clean’ and transparent ESG, climate-friendly investments have created an enormous field of opportunities for corporates and investors. From PG&E to Boohoo, failures in oversight are being revealed at a greater rate than ever and their cost can no longer be ignored. I feel privileged to be able to lean on my dual background in U.S. securities regulations and capital markets to investigate governance best practices and to continue to advocate for an uplift in our fiduciary duty every day. Josephine Home, a maternity leave project which has turned into an award-winning brand (Walpole Luxury Brand of Tomorrow 2010 and UKTI Great British Brands 2016), has helped me walk into the shoes of an issuer. As a sustainable luxury brand, the company helps consumers make better choices: using skilled artisans and products with extraordinary longevity, it delivers an elevated experience of sleep for high profile VIPs and some of the most demanding hoteliers in the world such as the Mandarin Oriental Group. The company is currently applying for the Positive Luxury Butterfly Mark, the greenest accreditation currently available for luxury goods. Using my combined experiences in corporate finance and as a sustainable entrepreneur, I am leveraging trusted contacts in industry, government, and with NGOs to help bring a different lens to client conversations on climate transitions and corporate engagement. Our transition to a climate-resilient world is my passion so do get in touch with inspirational solutions...and difficult conversations- We need both to make a difference to the outcome.
