About Stan Sandberg

https://www.travelinsurance.com/
Stan spent 13 years in investment banking, advising internet companies on strategic positioning, financing and M&A. During his finance career, Stan worked extensively with e-commerce and internet marketing companies, including playing a key advisory role on multiple acquisitions by GSI Commerce (acquired by eBay 2011). During this period, Stan temporarily left Wall Street to serve as Vice President of Strategic Development for Cendant Corporation's travel division, today known as Travelport (TVPT--NYSE). While there, Stan executed $2.5 billion of online and technology-related acquisitions, including the acquisitions of Orbitz and eBookers. His online travel experience became a catalyst for his own entrepreneurial pursuits. In 2010, Stan met serial entrepreneur, Drew Sharma, and they created a business plan for a new online travel company focused on travel insurance. At the time, travel insurance was a little-known product that few US travelers purchased--it was complicated, there were limited choices, and the opt-in/opt-out sales experience was awful. Stan and Drew believed that by simplifying the shopping experience and by making travel insurance transparent and easy to understand, that more travelers would see the true benefits and buy it. Stan and Drew launched TravelInsurance.com with the sole mission to make travel insurance easy. Today, TravelInsurance.com is one of the fastest growing online marketplaces for travel insurance--from trip cancellation to travel medical to emergency evacuation coverage. TravelInsurance.com works with top global insurance companies such as Allianz, AXA, AIG, CSA, RoamRight and others and provides a transparent and fast shopping experience. Stan has appeared on numerous industry panels and has been quoted in leading industry publications such as the New York Times, USA Today, Conde Nast Traveler, Forbes, Travel Weekly, Travel & Leisure, Adweek, Reuters and The Deal.com.
