Sophie Winwood, She is CEO & co-founder of WVC:E, an award-winning community and platform for Women in VC. Culminating in a 400+ person annual summit, WVC:E seeks to develop highly productive networks to increase the success of diverse investors, through frequent local and virtual events, supported by a continuous stream of content, resources, and training.
Sophie Winwood is also an Operating Partner at Foxe Capital, a global early-stage FinTech fund. She has been venture investing for 6 years, and has been recognized on the Innovate Finance Women in FinTech Powerlist in 2020, 2021 & 2023, as one of the 34 rising stars in Venture Capital in 2023 by Business Insider, and is a regular guest on industry podcasts.

Sophie Winwood is an Associate at Anthemis where she helps discover, evaluate and execute early stage investments as well as supporting the current portfolio. She has a passion for all things FinTech and InsurTech, is a regular on 11:FS’s InsurTech Insider podcast, and is a strong promoter and supporter for diversity within the industry.
Sophie Winwood started her career at Deloitte, qualifying as a chartered accountant before moving into financial services mergers and acquisitions (M&A), where she worked on a variety of banking, insurance and fintech transactions. Before joining Anthemis, she headed up partnerships at Innovate Finance, working with some of the largest members (e.g. Visa, BBVA, Deloitte) as well as running the VC engagement strategy (including producing the annual VC Investment Landscape).
A born and bred Londoner, Sophie Winwood has a master’s degree in molecular and cellular biochemistry from the University of Oxford, where she also played women’s rugby. She still plays (tag) rugby and also enjoys getting out of London to do some trail running.
