Sophie Guibaud has spent the last 10 years designing and executing the go to market of Banking-As-A-Service (BAAS) & Embedded Finance propositions in Europe including team and operation building.
She is currently the Co-founder and Chief Commercial & Growth Officer at Fiat Republic.
Before Co-founding Fiat Republic, she has made her marks as Head of Product Strategy and MD Europe at 3 European BAAS providers, OpenPayd, Bankable and Fidor. Sophie Guibaud was also instrumental in launching HelloFresh in the UK, a Rocket Internet food subscription-based company that IPO’ed for 1.7BEUR in 2017.
Sophie Guibaud seats on the Fintech Advisory Board of PayU, the fintech arm of public company media giant & Tencent’s largest shareholder, Naspers.
On top of her operational responsibilities at OpenPayd, Sophie is a Fintech thought-leader and has been interviewed by a large range of online media, TV and offline industry events, being part of more than 70 keynotes and panels over the past 5 years across Europe.
For her work within the Fintech industry, she received multiple industry recognition such as Standout 35 2018 and 2019 by Innovate Finance, 35 Women under 35 from Management Today / The Telegraph and European Digital financial Services 'Power 50’ from Digital Banking Club.
Rocket-fuelled by a passion for fintech and payments, Sophie Guibaud has recently embarked on a new journey in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
As a founder of Fiat Republic, her vision is to propel crypto into the mainstream. They are achieving this by facilitating fiat payments for users, all thanks to their network of crypto-friendly banks and instant settlement network, Eaglenet.
Her journey over the past 15 years has been marked by building fintech companies across Europe and the UK. As an early contributor at Level39, Sophie Guibaud has laid the foundation as a mentor and nurtured the community.

She was part of the Hello Fresh founding team in the UK in 2012.
She led the launch of Fidor Bank, a digital bank in the UK, in 2015.
She co-authored a book published by Wiley, Embedded Finance: When Payments Become an Experience, which highlights the bountiful prospects of embedded finance for tech platforms and consumer brands.
