Saar Pikar | Managing Director at OMERS Growth Equity | Fintech Finance
Saar Pikar is a Managing Director with OMERS' Growth Equity with focus on Edtech and Fintech companies. Prior to OMERS Saar Pikar was CDI's Chief Executive Officer. Leading the overall strategic direction and day to day operations He helped grow the company first as V.P. Business development (2000-2006) and then as CEO (Since 2006) from $10 million in sales and 30 employees to over $140 million in sales and 500 + employees. During this tenure he led a successful MBO and the acquisition of three separate companies and a refinance with HIG Growth Partners. CDI Technologies, now managed by Saar Pikar's brother Erez Pikar, has since merged with Troxell Communications, Saar Pikar still maintains a significant equity position in the combined company. CDI provides Software and IT equipment to Education clients and Value Added Re-sellers throughout North America through a sales force of 150 commissioned reps. The company operates a fully automated refurbishment and equipment upgrade/logistics facility in its Ontario locations. CDI also owns a fully featured ITAD and IT Rental business and provides a one stop shop for IT needs for its 4,000 plus clients. For the four years prior to joining CDI, Pikar was the owner and lead business development for TechnoTrade, a wholesaler of computer equipment and Whitebox systems and prior he was the owner and Director of Sales for IBC, a chain of 14 retail stores. During his tenure at he oversaw business development as well as launching a franchise program that resulted in seven corporate stores and seven franchise stores opened under the IBC brand. Pikar joined CDI as a Sales Manager in 2000, was promoted to V.P. Business Development in ‘05 and CEO in ‘06. From 2006 Saar Pikar was responsible for the overall running of the company and reported to the board of directors. Pikar earned his BA in Economics, Dean’s list, from Wilfred Laurier University and a Masters of Business Administrations, Ivey Scholar, from the Ivey School of Business at Western University.
